13U Rays Get Pinned Back By CP Stars of Queens, NY 6-3 – Finish 3rd

Rays Can’t Get Bats To Wake Up In Early Morning Semi Final Match Up

The undefeated run in Vero Beach by the GRB Rays 13U’s came to halt, as did their run to the Championship Game after suffering a semi final loss to the CP Stars of Queens, NY.  The Stars, predominately Dominican players, hovered tall above the Rays, who are a large team in themselves.

The Rays trailed early, and could never quite catch up, despite threatening several times with runners in scoring position (RISP).

Randon Dauman kept his hot bat moving by going 2 for 3.  Stephen Lund had the other hit as the Rays could only muster 3 hits off of the strong pitching of the Stars which sent 9 Rays back to the dugout via strikeouts.

Jimmy Frusciante put together 3 innings of no hit ball and Dauman had a scoreless inning of relief

The Rays will return to training at the GRB Academy on Friday in preparations for the summer season.
